Some dogs are trained to learn traffic signals. It knows when to stop or go at a crossing. It will alert its master to pavements or steps, thereby avoiding potentially dangerous mishaps.

Once training is done, the agency will have to match you with a dog. They will help you to adjust and follow up with you until the transition is a smooth one. The person with the disability will also have to work hard and be trained themselves.
