Dog Training Leads

There are many dog training leads available today and the good thing is that they're not very expensive. Training your dog to walk nicely on a lead requires patience. It can't hurt to have good equipment either.

It also helps to have a good collar, one that you're comfortable with as well. If your puppy or dog tends to pull a lot, perhaps a harness may be better, to reduce strain on their necks. An amazing collar to get is a Buddy Belt.

The Lead IS Part Of Training

Some people may not view the lead as part of the training. You need to spend time with your dog at home, practicing walking with the lead. It's best to train at home before going outside.

If you're training a puppy, it would be better to use a cheaper lead, as puppies tend to bite and chew on their lead (the cute little devils!) Once you're past this stage, then a good lead will do, but preferably one that doesn't extend too far.

Just remember to be patient. Praise your dog for good behavior. Dogs like to please their owners. Training with the lead requires practice. Try to keep sessions short. There is nothing wrong in training several times a day though.

Nowadays, there are so many good leads to choose from. Even a simple thing such as a lead has some cool technology behind it!

Things To Keep In Mind

Remember that during this training period, you want dog training leads that aren't too long. The lead should be comfortable for both you and your dog. If it isn't, your dog will let you know.

Try not to get a lead that is made of material that can cut and injure you or your dog. Always keep safety in mind. Look at the metal clip to make sure it's of good quality. Don't use a retractable lead during training.

Make sure the lead-collar connection is secure. Don't forget reflective material for those night walks. Practice safety always.
